II is the 2nd CD by Majestic Reign. Matt Hughes Studio only Heavy Metal project. This CD contains Metal reinterpretations of some of his songs including Raise the Jolly Roger and Under the Black Flag. This CD features several songs written when Matt was in High School and College. Two songs are collaborations from that time with Todd O'Malley as co writer. The Madness of Thorin and With Cutlass and Cannon show how the two interwove their riff ideas seamlessly. Another song from the period is The Death of Free Thought which contains the only lyrical snippets that Matt had written. He lost all of his lyrics from his youth in a house fire in 1998. Down in the Mines is the newest track written for the CD and is the opening track. The CD is a mix of Thrash, Doom and Power Metal
